The Flood Crisis in Punjab

Punjab recently faced one of its most devastating floods in decades. Torrential rains left thousands of families displaced, crops destroyed, and entire villages submerged. In this moment of crisis, the spirit of Punjab shone through as individuals, communities, and celebrities came together to lend a helping hand.

Punjabi Actors Lead by Example

When disaster struck, Punjabi artists were among the first to step forward. Diljit Dosanjh through his Saanjh Foundation adopted villages in Amritsar and Gurdaspur. Ammy Virk promised to rebuild 200 houses for affected families. Gippy Grewal sent truckloads of cattle feed to sustain livestock in flood-hit districts. Karan Aujla donated rescue boats to speed up evacuations. Ranjit Bawa, Babbu Mann, Satinder Sartaj, and many more pitched in with donations and relief supplies. Their collective efforts proved that fame in Punjab comes with deep responsibility toward the people.

Salman Khan’s Words on Bigg Boss

Even Bollywood took notice. On Bigg Boss 19, Salman Khan paused the usual drama to remind contestants and viewers about the real struggle in Punjab. He praised Punjabi artists and volunteers for stepping up during the floods and urged everyone across India to contribute in any way possible. His words gave national visibility to the relief efforts, inspiring many to act.

Chaupal Joins Hands with the Community

Not only stars but platforms also stood by the people. Chaupal, Punjab’s own OTT home, went beyond entertainment to distribute tarpaulin sheets to flood-affected families in Nakodar, Jalandhar, and Phagwara. It was a small but meaningful step to ensure families had shelter in the hardest of times. Chaupal’s team believes that just like our stories bring people together on screen, our actions must bring support in real life too.

The Spirit of Punjab

From actors to platforms, from villages to global Punjabis, everyone is doing their part. These efforts remind us that while floods may test us, the unity and resilience of Punjab stand taller than any storm. Together, with empathy and action, we can rebuild and support the families who need us most.
