Just when you thought Punjabi cinema had done it all—drama, romance, comedy, weddings, and weddings with extra drama—along comes Jombieland to say, “Hold my paratha.” Yes, zombies have officially entered Punjab, and they’re bringing chaos, gore, and maybe a bit of Bhangra with them.
Releasing on June 13, 2025, Jombieland stars the ever-charming Kanika Mann, comedy king Binnu Dhillon, the fierce Angira Dhar, and debutant G Khan, who probably didn’t expect his first film to involve running from the undead in a mustard field.
Directed by Thaparr (of Jee Ve Sohneya Jee fame), who apparently woke up one day and thought, “You know what Punjabi cinema needs? A zombie virus,” this film is set to take the genre by storm—or at least by dhol.
At the heart of it are Jeeti and Koko, a cute couple ready to tie the knot—until the Z1N1 virus crashes their shaadi plans. One moment it’s mehendi and ladoos, the next it’s machetes and mayhem. Honestly, it’s giving Dulhan Weds Disaster.
Produced by Next Level Productions (because clearly, this idea is next level), the film promises horror, humour, and heart—all with a side of roti. So get ready, folks. Because this June, the only thing scarier than rishtedaars at a wedding… is rishtedaars with zombie bites.
